UPTOWN is a hospitality sector startup. Founded by Sandeep Rajkhowa, who is an Engineer and MBA from the prestigious University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun with over 17 years of corporate and entrepreneurship experience in strategic advisory at the likes of Global Big 4 Consulting Firms - pwc and Mazars, UPTOWN is the region's first & largest Co-living Spaces company. Sandeep has worked on many regulatory and strategic assignments for Govt. of India and had founded AsthaCorp in 2015, which provides end-to-end construction and interior solutions. Sandeep along with the co-founders Sanjoy Chanda and Anangaraj Saikia started first Uptown campus in the heart of Guwahati city on July 1, 2021. Astha Prakashan, a publishing house established in 1993 by his father, Sarat Rajkhowa, is now an integral part of AsthaCorp's diverse portfolio. AsthaCorp & UPTOWN are now a Government recognised MSME and certified STARTUPs from DPIIT, Govt. of India.
Why us?
We have been the pioneers in developing large scale hostels and educational facilities across Northeast India for various Government schemes and corporate initiatives. We have been the preferred infrastructure partner in the Northeast for many large nationally renowned universities and corporations from across the country. We are closely associated with students in the region for several years now through our works in education sector. From our experience we have felt that Northeast India lacks professionally managed benchmark accommodation facilities for students and young professionals. The unorganised sector of paying guest and hostel facilities being provided by private building owners and agents do not provide adequate facilities which students and young professionals of other parts of the country enjoy. This has prompted us to conceptualise the region’s first Professionally Managed Shared Accommodation (PMSA) co-living facilities and living spaces for the youth who come to the towns and cities in quest of better education and job. In Uptown we offer more than 20 amenities which are not offered in any PG or hostels of the region. From excellent infrastructure to food to service, Uptown Hostels is set to create a benchmark in youth accommodation in the region.
